He Loved Someone Like Me
1. He watched as she labored in the harvest fields of grain
Handfuls of purpose he left along her way
He was moved with compassion, he knew where she had been
A road of pain had led her right here to Bethlehem
2. She needed a redeemer to claim her as his own
So she made her petition and when the morning sun arose
He redeemed her with a promise and until her dying day
If anybody asked her of her story she would say…
Chorus: Because he loved me, I’m not what I used to be
Because he loved me, my shame is history
He gave to me his name and today I am redeemed
My whole life is changed ‘cause he loved someone like me
Bridge: I too was unworthy with nothing left to give
But my Redeemer loved me and He died that I might live
