At His Table

Wishing For The Day

Sometimes the dark storms in our lives seem to last for an eternity! During these times, we wonder if we'll ever see morning again! In this devotion, Sis. Diana shares the Biblical account of the storm called Euroclydon. In the midst of that dark and violent storm, everyone on board the ship wished for the day! But just as the Lord delivered them, you can rest assured that your day of deliverance is coming!

Keep Your Ear To The Ground

Today, Richard talks about his American Indian ancestry and the phrase "Keep your ear to the ground." This allowed Indians to hear distant sounds of buffalo even when they were nowhere in sight. In 1 Kings 18:41, Elijah declared the middle of a drought that he "heard" the sound of rain! Even when we're surrounded by discouragement. we must keep our spiritual ear to the ground until the rain comes!

Worth The Wait

Scripture Reading:Almost no one enjoys waiting, especially when situations are urgent. Today Sandy reminds us of the story of Lazarus, and how Mary and Martha were surely in turmoil while Jesus delayed His coming. But when the Lord showed up, everyone can agree, victory was worth the wait!

Oops I’m Caught

We have all been guilty of doing something wrong trying to make ourselves look good in the eyes of others. Today you will hear of two men caught in that embarrassing situation. May each of us learn from these stories that we may bring honor unto God!

God’s Property

After a plot of land has been purchased, the previous owner has no legal right to that property anymore. Today, Bro. David shares the story of Job where God's property line is called a hedge. Even when Satan was allowed to inflict pain and suffering, he was not able to take possession of Job's heart and soul. As Christians, we have been purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ and we are now God's property!

Expectation vs Disappointment

We all have expectations for the future. Yet, when life takes an unexpected turn, we are faced with overwhelming disappointment. Today, Sis. Diana encourages us that disappointment is God's appointment time to work miracles in our lives!

The Black Book

Sometimes the past is our greatest hindrance in moving forward with the Lord. Today, Richard tells of someone who carried a black book. This book contained all of the bad things that people had done to him. But this individual found freedom when he let go of the past by throwing his black book into the fire.

Distraction Lessons

Distractions can be a dangerous thing as Sandy illustrates with a story regarding a three car pile-up. We also have more spiritual distractions than ever before! In the year ahead, may we strive to be more "focused" on the Lord like never before!
