Infallible Proofs
In November of 2025, we were in a meeting in Chambersburg, PA, which is right across the state line from Hagerstown, MD. One afternoon, we were sitting in a turning lane, waiting to make a left turn. When the light turned green, I let off the brake just enough to begin slowly coasting forward. Suddenly, we heard a loud crash and then felt a slight bump. Yes, you got it, we were involved in a four-car pileup, and we were number four. I put the truck in park, and we got out to look at the damage.
Now, we drive one-and-a-half-ton trucks. They sit high and are built heavy. We were relieved to see that our truck had almost no damage at all, just a couple of scuffs on the plastic trim of the bumper. No dents. No scratches. We were pressed for time and initially thought we would leave, but then we noticed that the vehicle behind us had a busted grille and a damaged radiator. We realized we needed to stay so the police would understand how that damage had happened. After the officers gave us a copy of the report, we noticed that some things had been logged incorrectly. We brought it to their attention, and they assured us it would be corrected once the final report was completed.
Camera Footage
Weeks later, I started getting calls from an insurance company. I assumed it was the at-fault driver’s insurance, probably wondering why I hadn’t filed a claim. Since we had no real damage, I didn’t want anything on my record, so I ignored the calls. Then my insurance company called, wanting details about the accident. As I explained that I was the last vehicle hit and that my large truck had received no significant damage, the lady listened and then said, “Oh, so that’s what happened?” She went on to explain that I was being sued by Geico for the car that had been totaled in the wreck – the second car behind me! Thankfully, we had taken pictures of everything. I quickly sent them to her, and she could clearly see that I was not at fault. She told me she would work to have the lawsuit dismissed.
A few weeks later, she contacted me again, saying that because the police report had been written incorrectly, Geico was still insisting that I was at fault. My adjuster advised me to contact the Hagerstown Police Department and request a corrected report. I called and explained everything, even offering the pictures, but that still wasn’t enough for them to make the correction. We waited and prayed for several hours, asking the Lord to work it all out.
Finally, that afternoon, my phone rang. It was the Hagerstown Police Department calling to explain the delay. They had to review the body-camera footage from the two officers who had worked the accident to find the infallible proof of my innocence. I cannot tell you how grateful I was for that body-camera footage. It sealed the facts. In no time, a new report was issued, and the case against me was closed.
Undeniable Evidence
In the book of Acts, Luke wrote to a man named Theophilus. We know very little about him. But in the Gospel of Luke, he addressed him as “most excellent Theophilus,” showing great honor and respect. Luke’s desire was to give him clear, strong evidence of Christ’s ministry, His death, His resurrection, and the establishment of the early church. Luke used the phrase “infallible proofs.”
“To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.” Acts 1:3
Many scholars have argued against the resurrection of Jesus Christ. But the truth of the resurrection always wins. There were so many witnesses who saw Jesus after He rose. Paul wrote that Christ was seen by over 500 brethren at once, many of whom were still alive some 25 years later when Paul wrote to the Corinthians.
Jesus gave undeniable, sure evidence that He is the risen Lord. The disciples did not hesitate or flinch in declaring that Christ was alive. They saw Him. They touched Him. They ate with Him. They listened as He taught them about the kingdom of God. The resurrection wasn’t based on rumor, it was backed by witnesses!
I wasn’t there when He walked out of the tomb. I wasn’t there when He ascended into heaven. But I was there when He met me at an old-fashioned altar and saved my soul. And just like that body-camera footage settled my case, I have infallible proof that Jesus lives. He saved me. He changed me. He walks with me, and He works in me. And that’s proof enough.
May God bless you and give you His peace
